During the Fall 2016 semester, students in several sections of ENG 3020 Writing and Community, taught by Drs. Karen Springsteen and Thomas Trimble, partnered with the Hannan Center for Lifelong Learning to create oral history interviews with local citizens who witnessed the events of the summer of 1967. The project is described in an article that appeared on Jan. 3 in the Detroit Free Press, which includes interviews with several participants. We congratulate all the students, instructors, and community members on their successful project! Watch for more updates in the future about this and other community writing projects at Wayne State.
