Please join us at 3 PM tomorrow (Wednesday 04/12) in room #10302 for our tenth and final workshop of Winter 2017: “Information Literacy: Beyond the Research Paper.”
A description of this workshop provided by facilitators Ruth Boeder and Tori Reeder:
This workshop will discuss not just research skills specifically but information literacy generally. What is the best thing to do when we need an answer—sometimes fast, sometimes slow? What makes us choose to trust one source over another? What information is needed to help us succeed on a given task or project? Being able to answer those questions, and to live out those answers, is to perform information literacy. After reviewing some information literacy concepts, participants will discuss how they already are doing information literacy instruction in classes across the composition sequence and brainstorm ways to strengthen and improve their instruction.
