Teaching Circle

Every semester, a full-time faculty member will lead a teaching circle for ENG 1010 which will be open to any faculty teaching the course that semester (or in the future). Teaching circles are generally informal meetings of faculty to discuss the course, your teaching, and any questions, comments, or concerns you may have. Typical topics that arise during TC meetings range from attending to student dispositions, successes or drawbacks of a classroom activity or assignment, and new ideas for teaching, grading, student conferences, etc.

The faculty lead will email all instructors who are assigned to teach the course to determine availability prior to the semester. If you wish to be added to the email list for the 1010 Teaching Circles (but are not teaching the course in the upcoming semester), please email the director of Composition, Jeff Pruchnic ( You may also contact Amy Latawiec (
